Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

TL;DR

I collect what I need to make the site work. I don't sell your data. I use cookies for sessions. If you sign up for the newsletter, I store your email to send it. You can unsubscribe anytime.

01. What I Collect

When you use this site, I may collect:

  • Account info (name, email, GitHub profile)
  • Newsletter subscription (email, name if provided)
  • Content you create (posts, annotations)
  • Connected account data (when you link Twitter/LinkedIn)
  • Basic analytics (page views, not personal)

02. How I Use It

  • Running the site and your account
  • Sending the weekly newsletter (if you subscribe)
  • Displaying your activity feed
  • Cross-posting to Twitter/LinkedIn when you choose
  • Improving the service

03. Sharing

I don't sell your data. I share it:

  • With services you connect (GitHub, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Publicly, when you post content (that's the point)
  • If legally required

04. Third-Party Services

When you connect GitHub, Twitter, or LinkedIn, their privacy policies govern what they do with your data. I only access what's needed for the features you use.

05. Cookies

I use cookies for sessions (keeping you logged in) and basic analytics. Nothing creepy. No tracking pixels or ad networks.

06. Newsletter

If you subscribe to the Friday email, I collect your email address (and optionally your name) to send you a weekly newsletter. I use double opt-in — you must confirm via email before receiving anything.

Your email is stored securely and used solely to send the newsletter. I don't share your email with third parties or use it for marketing beyond the newsletter itself.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time and your data will be marked as unsubscribed. To have your data fully deleted, contact me directly.

07. Your Rights

You can:

  • Access your data
  • Correct inaccurate info
  • Delete your account and content
  • Disconnect third-party services

08. Security

I use reasonable security measures. Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted, access is limited. No system is perfect, but I take it seriously.

09. Changes

If this policy changes significantly, I'll update the date at the top. For major changes, I may notify you directly.
